2016

Taboo International Art Competition

My drawing entitled “Waiting for Messiah…” obtained second place as one of three finalist artworks in the Project category of the Taboo International Art Competition and finalist exhibition in Florence, Italy.

2015

Celeste Art Prize (International Art Competition)

Selected as one of 43 finalists for the final exhibition and awards evening in Milan, Italy.  Obtained joint second prize at the awards evening with the artist Emmanuele Sartori for my drawing entitled “Simon of Cyrene”.

2014

National Arts Council (NAC) Study Grant

Awarded a study grant from the National Arts Council (NAC, South Africa) towards the completion of my Master’s Degree Studies in Visual Art (specializing in drawing) at the University of Stellenbosch.

2013

Vuleka National Contemporary Art Competition

Awarded two merit prizes for “Lot’s wife I” (stone lithography print series) as well as triptych charcoal drawings entitled “Reflecting on Oedipus”.
